rules
The basic rules that apply to most all TCGs. Please read through them even if you're already familiar with this sort of thing, there might be some useful information somewhere in here...
about your website
You must have a website to display your cards, and there must be a link back to Trading Academy on that site. This is so new people can join and you'll have more friends to trade with! Your site must be ready before you sign up.
Please do not ask us for help finding webspace or creating a website. That is your responsibility. Try Geocities or Freewebs if you need free hosting. MySpace, Xanga, and other community sites are NOT acceptable; those sites are not set up to allow for an easily findable trading post and often include popups and intrusive ads. LiveJournal, however, IS permitted.
You must have a detailed trade log on your site. Be sure to keep detailed records of which cards/tokens you have won from the games, and which members you have traded with. "Played some games, got [list of cards]," is not acceptable.

about joining & starter packs
Please choose a unique, but easy to remember nickname. NO numbers or funky punctuation, please. Type "student" before your name on the join form to receive an extra random card in your starter pack.
You will get a starter pack (instantly!) with two cards from your favorite set and four random regular cards. Please add your starter pack to your site within one week of joining.
Further instructions are available once you submit the form, so that's all we'll say about joining for now.
about the forum
You MUST register for the TCG forum if you wish to participate in Trading Academy. All level up and master forms plus several games are run on the forum. You are not required to actively post or chat with other members, but your levels and mastering can only be handled through the forum.
So... after you submit that join form, please register for the forum using the SAME nickname you chose as your member name.
other important information
A little note about freebies. You MAY NOT take freebies from any updates that were posted BEFORE the date that you sent in the join form. No fair to take cards that were offered to existing members before you even found this site.
Type "I love Chunkypuff" in the comments section of the join form to receive an extra card in your starter pack.
boring but necessary
Please don't cheat by taking cards from the site you haven't earned or by not taking down cards you have traded to another member. This game is run on the honor system and really won't be much fun for anyone if people are cheating. We give lots of opportunities to get cards so we promise you'll only be a "noob" for a short time!
